*THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED**
A cricket tea is one of the highlights of our great game and there are lots of cricket clubs across Yorkshire who put on a fine spread in between innings.
Last year, Stainland won the Cricket Yorkshire Tea of the Year with an incredible feast, though it was so tough even to shortlist because of the standard.
Our competition is back for 2024, sponsored again generously by Yorkshire Tea, with new categories and more chances to win!

Deadline: Sunday 30 June! (Much sooner this year).
To celebrate those who make, bake and brew, our competition to find the best cricket tea in Yorkshire is returning for 2024 – with new categories!
It is open to all cricket clubs in the region and Cricket Yorkshire is delighted to welcome back Yorkshire Tea as the sponsor for another year.
There are three categories to enter and an overall winner will be chosen from those:
The overall winning cricket club will get a special trophy, designed by Yorkshire Tea + receive 3,000 Yorkshire Tea tea bags to keep them enjoying a proper brew for many months to come.
Plus, there’s Champagne Afternoon Tea at Bettys for up to four people – so those who usually make the cricket teas can eat, drink and relax in style.
Each of the category winners don’t miss out though – they get 1,500 Yorkshire Tea teabags.

3 x Categories (enter as many as you like)
π Low-Cost Luxuries – This award champions the clubs who serve a fabulous cricket tea on a budget of Β£4 per person or less. How do you save money? How do you impress?
π Non-Baked Nibbles – We love our cakes, pies and baked goods but this award celebrates alternatives from curries to quinoa and salads to sizzling barbeques. We’re looking for diversity and food that represents your region and culture.
π The Showstopper Award – What is the one item that your club cricket tea is famous for? Do you make the best cheesecake in Yorkshire (and the world)? A lasagne that Italy would be bowled over by?
We will then select three category winners and an overall champion club – best of luck!
Yorkshire Tea is synonymous with cricket having sponsored the England cricket team and is the brew of choice at many pavilions across the land. Itβs even on the box!
They now work with Chance to Shine in the UK supporting projects that get kids playing cricket, building skills both on and off the pitch.
Here in Yorkshire, itβs time to fire up the tea urn, dig out your blockbuster recipes and champion those who deserve recognition.
Yorkshire cricket teas are magnificent. I should know Iβve eaten hundreds of them since Cricket Yorkshire started in 2011!
From curries to cakes and pies to pastries, the region serves its cricketers, umpires, scorers and visitors a feast.
Who does the best cricket tea in your league? Who should win the Cricket Yorkshire Tea of the Year?

There is a fantastic trophy for the overall winner to keep in their clubhouse, designed by Yorkshire Tea.
Plus, the winning club also gets 3,000 Yorkshire Tea teabags and Champagne Afternoon Tea for four at Bettys.
Each category winner stocks up their tea supplies with 1,500 Yorkshire Tea tea bags.

From what I’ve seen this season, I’d say Duncombe Park, Easingwold and Keighley should enter.
Yvonne Collins says
Cawthorne CC all the way. The tea ladies are very helpful too. Being disabled and using crutches I find it very difficult to negotiate holding a plate and putting the sandwiches etc onto it. The ladies always told me to sit down and they would sort a plate out for me. Superb teas every week. I miss them since they left the Huddersfield CL and try to get to Cawthorne whenever I can. Superb teas and tea ladies.
John Fuller says
Thanks Yvonne, good of you to offer feedback. Cawthorne have had some lovely comments about the tea ladies and teas.
