Together with Yorkshire Tea, we launched the Yorkshire Tea Community Cricket Awards for 2025.
These new monthly awards (five trophies in total from May to September) were our way to recognise the contributions from those right across Yorkshire recreational cricket.

🏆 Entries received
Each month, nominations were invited for anyone involved in grassroots cricket in Yorkshire. It could be a player, coach, club committee member, groundskeeper, parent, or any role that has made a difference.
We also wanted to hear about how clubs, teams and groups worked with their wider communities such as food banks or charitable acts. Nominations were invited via a quick entry form.
We chose a winner at the end of each month and interviewed them here on cricketyorkshire.com about their journey in cricket. They were sent 1,500 Yorkshire Gold teabags to enjoy a brew with their feet up and will receive a trophy each in due course too.
This was about amazing acts of service, generosity, kindness and impact. Anyone could be nominated for an award each month, there were no specific categories.
The only criteria was that they have to be still involved in Yorkshire grassroots cricket in some way, shape or form. (Rather than a historical award).

A few examples: A groundskeeper who has worked on a cricket ground for 30+ years, a community coach delivering girls cricket sessions or a volunteer supporting the provision of disability cricket in the community.
This wasn’t just about cricket clubs either – but any volunteers in Yorkshire cricket who give their time to serve their communities. It was a chance to shine a light on those who deserve recognition.

The Yorkshire Tea Community Cricket Awards recognise the incredible work at grassroots in Yorkshire of volunteers making an impact in their communities.
