Join me inside Bear Cricket’s HQ for an exclusive look at the Yorkshire-based teamwear supplier’s operation.
If you’re a cricket club that needs clothing for players and supporters in the new season, Bear Cricket can help.
Cricket Yorkshire Offer: As website partners, we have an exclusive offer until 28 February 2026. Any club placing a bulk teamwear order receives £250 of Bear Cricket equipment.
I was met off the Bradford train at Low Moor by Steven Midgley, co-owner of the business along with Adam Brown, for a tour.
We headed straight to the factory and shop in Liversedge – appropriately, an industrial town famed for its history of textile production.

Guiding volunteers with teamwear
The trip to Victoria Mills on Knowler Hill wasn’t just a social call; I wanted to understand the thinking behind Bear’s clothing ranges, see the machinery for myself and feel the quality of the fabrics your club could be wearing.
There are many companies promising the earth – so why choose Bear Cricket for your custom teamwear? At the heart of their commitment is customer service. Anyone can say that – but the proof is in the retention: clubs sign up and stay for years.
If you’re curious, get in touch with Bear or ask one of their current partner clubs like Woodhouse Grange, Illingworth St Mary’s or East Bierley.
What you get is a Yorkshire-based cricket brand where they design, print and hand-stitch on-site – plus, you are directly in touch with the owners.
Clubs are guided by Steven & Adam through the teamwear process and have access to them directly via email, phone, and WhatsApp.
This means no waiting ages to hear back. They understand that volunteers are trying to sort teamwear around busy lives and just want to crack on.
The dozens of cricket clubs buying from Bear Cricket cover all sizes and circumstances. These include:
- Playing Wear: Whites and coloured T20 / training kits.
- Training: Shirts, shorts, hoodies and hybrid jackets.
- Headwear: From baggies to bucket hats.
Whether it’s Pocklington, Osbaldwick (above), Whitby or Harrogate (below), the final products look fantastic – and the feedback matches the finish.

The fabric test
If you’re curious how things are made – as I am – stepping inside the mill building was a lesson in manufacturing expertise.
It is incredible to see the skilful process of sublimation up close: Printing designs onto paper and then bonding those to fabric using a heat transfer press.
The end result? A full-colour image where the design is part of the fabric itself, meaning it won’t peel, crack, or fade in the wash.
Clubs can choose from three distinct ranges:
- Core: Popular, permanent stock for speed.
- Custom Colour: Choice of patterns in your club colours.
- Bespoke: Total flexibility on design.
Your teams can opt for simplicity with a single logo, or adorn sleeves, chest and side panels with sponsors, player names and numbers.
As Steven talked me through the workflow – from initial enquiry to finished product – we stood in the Bear Cricket shop, surrounded by walls of bats, pads, gloves, and teamwear. I did what I always do when shopping: I rubbed the fabrics, checked the print and had a rummage.
Bear Cricket’s designs have always stood out, but seeing them close up confirms that this is clothing that is bold, innovative, and an expression of your club’s identity.
Bespoke creations: Reversible jumpers to hybrid
While scouring the shop, several items caught my eye:
- East Bierley’s Training Top: I was slightly obsessed with the feel of the fabric and the crispness of the logo on their burgundy kit.
- Woodhouse Grange’s Jumper: A clever, reversible design – white on one side for league cricket then blue/red on the reverse for limited-overs.
- The ‘Hybrid’ Player: Steven showed me a garment for a Glaisdale player who had two different clubs, resulting in a custom design that mashed up two clubs in one top!
While the reversible jumper is proving popular, clubs can select shirts, slipovers, trousers, gilets, caps and much more.
Because Adam and Steven are involved in club cricket themselves, they understand the need to balance a fair price with choice and durability. But inevitably, it’s the communication that clubs appreciate most.
Whether it’s sizing queries, logo formatting, or last-minute additions, you need a supplier who answers the phone and emails promptly.

Cricket teamwear shop
In addition to bulk orders, Bear Cricket removes the admin headache for volunteers.
- Password-Protected Shops: Every club gets their own online store.
- Direct Ordering: Players, parents and supporters buy what they need.
- No Admin: No collecting cash or spreadsheets on a Friday night.
Timescales & Reliability
Bear Cricket’s promise is based on production in Yorkshire and clear timelines:
- Core Range: Held in permanent stock; fulfilled in 5-10 days.
- Custom/Bespoke Ranges: Made to order in 4-6 weeks.
The earlier you enquire, the better. Things naturally get busier in February and March – so have those internal conversations now.
