Females in Cricket Event: Saturday 22 February at Headingley

February 10, 2025 by John Fuller Leave a Comment

With the growth of the women and girls’ game here in Yorkshire, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved beyond playing.

A new Females in Cricket event, organised by the Yorkshire Cricket Board (YCB), is being held at Headingley Cricket Ground on Saturday 22 February. There will be workshops by industry experts, plus the chance to meet other volunteers and learn ways to connect with the game.

Whether it’s umpiring, scoring, grounds maintenance or promoting female health, this promises to be an inspiring day of learning and networking.

Aimed at females aged 14+, register online for an exciting day at the home of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

What’s in store?

Workshops led by industry experts:

Grounds – Jasmine Nicholls

Jasmine has prepared pitches for Yorkshire Cricket across all formats at Headingley, contributed to the award-winning Test Match conditions during the Men’s Ashes summer, and made history as part of the all-women team preparing the pitch for the first Vitality Women’s Ashes T20 at Edgbaston.

Officiating & Scoring – Sarah Pollard

As Yorkshire’s County Scoring Officer, Sara regularly scores Northern Diamonds matches and is sufficiently qualified to officiate internationals.

Female Health & Injuries – Expert – TBC
