In this feature, we’ll dive into which cricket clubs from Yorkshire are competing in the 2025 ECB Women’s Club T20 and early fixtures.
The Women’s Club Cup T20 Group 1 is where four Yorkshire clubs are competing against sides from all over the North.
Barnard Castle, Durham City, Fleetwood, Hightown St Marys, Leyland, Lindow, Llandudno, Menston, Norton, Ramsbottom, Sessay, St Chad’s Broomfield, Stockport Georgians, Tarleton, Willington, Wrenthorpe.
In 2024, Sessay Emeralds won Group 1 Final, defeating Didsbury by 20 runs. They then lost to Dorridge by six wickets in the August national semi with Gunnersbury Women’s 1st XI the champions.

St Chad’s Broomfield had an impressive 2024 and only lost by six runs to Wrenthorpe back in Round 2 of the Women’s Club T20 so they’ll want to go deeper in the competition.
Sheffield Collegiate, Skipton and Saxon are not in the 2025 edition (although I don’t know if that’s choice or eligibility.)
This year’s Group 1 fixtures are on 4 May with Sessay against Wrenthorpe; two top sides in the Yorkshire Women’s & Girls Cricket League Premier Division.
In West Yorkshire, St Chad’s Broomfield travel to Menston with a regional quarter-final up for grabs.

Women’s Club Plate T20
Meanwhile, there is also a Women’s Club Plate T20 with the same format of four Groups then nationals knockout rounds.
In 2025, Round 1 sees Tynedale, South Northumberland, Hartlepool, North Leeds, Whalley Range and Didsbury face sides knocked out of the Women’s Club T20.
Won overall by Harrow St Mary’s in last year’s national final, Group 1 of the Club Plate T20 involved a number of Yorkshire clubs not taking part this season.
Menston got to the semi-final before losing to eventual Group 1 winners Leyland. Skipton, Sheffield Collegiate, North Leeds, Pudsey St Lawrence and St Chad’s Broomfield were all involved.
The relative strength and fortunes of all of these clubs will have fluctuated and as ever, it’s about juggling squad strength and local league and cups, alongside any ECB national commitments.
It’ll be fascinating to see how Yorkshire club sides do and which have bolstered their squads over winter for a stronger push for either league or national honours.
