🇯🇪 International cricket at New Farnley
It’s not often a cricket club hosts a one-day international – and in the case of New Farnley, of the Bradford Premier League, they have two in the calendar (on successive days) with Jersey playing Zimbabwe A at the Barry Jackson ground.
The matches are on 1 & 2 August with 11am start.
💥 Crossley Shield fireworks
In the GB Total Solutions Crossley Shield, Warley and Elland beat Luddendenfoot by 399 runs. The visitors scored a whopping 460-9 in 45 overs. Javed Iqbal blasted 209 in just 76 balls. A mention for Charlie Horsfield whose 4-95 amid the carnage was a crumb of comfort.
Foot were dismissed for 61 all out, Zeeshan Iqbal (5-26) and Wasim Hussain (4-30) excelling for the newly-formed club.
Elsewhere, there were two Super Overs needed at Queensbury where Sowerby Bridge Church Institute eventually won.
Both teams scored 159-9 with SBCI’s Mark Fellows striking 87 from 100 balls. The Shield holders managed a further 31 runs to tie the scores, with Ewan Kettlewell taking 4-34.

🟰 Frickley Colliery & Oulton tied at the top
In the Premier Division of the Pontefract Cricket League, Frickley Colliery and Oulton are tied on 31 pts, albeit after only two games.
Frickley Colliery (194) won by 96 runs at Nostell St Oswald (98). The visitors batted first and unusually, number 10 Josh Diggles top-scored with a run-a-ball unbeaten 26. Azad Arif’s 5-40 was the highlight amongst the bowlers.
In reply, the wickets were shared with Matthew Pinder’s 4-13 the most economical and highest wicket-taker.
Elsewhere, Oulton’s 152-run win at home to Crofton Phoenix was built off the back of 116 from Ryan Healey. Clark Harrison’s 4-59 did the damage as Oulton claimed 16 points.
🏆 Champions Moorlands win again
