CLOSED: Win an ACS Cricket Water Collector for your club

February 27, 2025 by John Fuller 10 Comments

***COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED***

Our website partner, ACS Cricket Equipment, is offering cricket clubs a chance to win a vital piece of grounds equipment.

The ACS Cricket Water Collector (£575 plus VAT) is invaluable in helping to get games on and remove water from the square and outfield – and we have one to give away!

This was a popular giveaway last year (won by Steeton CC) and so we’re running it again for 2025 – anyone can enter on behalf of their cricket club too.

Made from galvanised metal with a powder coat finish, there is a sponge attached via velcro to make them easy to replace.

The 50-litre tank collects surface water in seconds – making this a fast way to get any ground ready for more cricket. It’s simple to release the water at the back when you’re full and off the pitch.

Whether it’s before or during a league game, cup final or a friendly, the ACS Water Collector is a must-have. It’s an investment that will last for years.

For use on grass, artificial surfaces and flat sheets, this piece of kit has been helping get the game on in club cricket and was even used by Richard Robinson (below) and his team at Headingley for that very wet Ashes Test!

David Hodgson, groundsman at Kirkstall Educational CC said:

“This machine is designed to last and all components are replaceable. No messing around scraping worn foam off for hours and no glue to deal with. They are affordable and the original design has been in service for years so they are well tried and tested.”

Liam Revis, Allerton Bywater CC, told me: “The water collector is very useful for us volunteers at Allerton Bywater CC, especially since we only have flat sheet covers. It’s as simple as rolling it out of the shed, over to the covers, and pushing! The water collector does all the rest, saving us valuable time and allowing us the opportunity to play the sport we love, no matter what the British summer has in store.”

🏏 Last but not least is to highlight the blockbuster price.

If your club wins our competition, lucky you!

If not and you’d like to buy one then at £575 plus VAT, it’s many hundreds of pounds less than other cricket pitch drum water collectors out there.

When it comes to cricket pitch water removal, I think I’ve seen it all. From towels on the ground to hand-held sponges but ultimately, it’s about time and efficiency.

🎉 How to Enter – Competition rules

The prize is 1 x ACS Water Collector. The deadline is Sunday 9 March 2024 at midnight. It is open to all UK cricket clubs. Anyone can nominate a cricket club to win. One entry per person. Entrants must be 18 or over.

The winning cricket club will be chosen at random and we’ll announce the winner via our newsletter. You can email [email protected] to find out who won.

Entry is free and no purchase necessary. Our decision is final and cannot be contested.

Don’t miss out… this is a vital bit of kit for any cricket ground and a generous prize from ACS Cricket Equipment.

Best of luck and for details of all of the products that ACS sell, including sight screens, covers, cages and sheets, visit: https://www.acscricket.co.uk.

The family business makes all of their own products from their Calverley HQ and are a go-to for many clubs across the country.

Hi Rupert, good to hear from you, Robbo uses the ACS water collector at Headingley including during that very wet 2023 Ashes Test match which is why the picture is there.
Hodgy also uses it at Kirkstall Educational CC. All the best for your 2024 fixtures with St Georges.

Having seen our water collector in use last summer we could do with an upgrade as it is going downhill very quickly

What one have you got Yvonne? The ACS Water Collector is new for this year so might be of interest. (Steeton CC won the competition.)
All the best with your cricket.

We are steadily building up our supplies of groundskeepers’ equipment and this would be an invaluable addition in boggy Lepton!! 🤞🏻 Especially as the wicket is so well used now with us having a ladies team!!

Thanks for the comment Cath, imagine quite a few grounds are boggy, it’s been a wet winter, hasn’t it? Steeton CC won the water collector in the end.
Info in the article if your club wants to think about buying an ACS product.
Good luck for the new season to Lepton’s teams.
