Gunn & Moore Diamond Limited Edition Cricket Bat 2024 – £629.99
The GM Diamond range has had the design input of England Test captain Ben Stokes and while it doesn’t guarantee you’ll bat like him, then the spirit of ‘that’ Ashes innings at Headingley will surely be in your corner.
For this kind of spend, you’ll probably be a serious cricketer who wants the best of the best. The BS55 has a shorter blade length to achieve a perfect balance but loses nothing in a large sweet spot to silkily time the ball to the rope.
(Over way over it).
With the F4.5 face profile, flowing contoured spine and mid-swell position, if you delight in stroke-making, you’re in very safe hands.
Crafted from prime English willow, this bat has GM’s latest hex grip to ensure confidence and control of your shots.

Kookaburra Ghost 1.1 Cricket Bat 2024 – £434.99
Made from Grade 1.1 unbleached English willow and endorsed by Marnus Labuschagne, the 2024 version of the Ghost will certainly frighten bowlers.
It comes ‘Kookaburra Pre-Prepared (KPP)’ which means your bat has been partly knocked in by hand and will cut down the time needed to battle-harden the willow.
With a quilt grip and classic stickers, the Ghost 1.1 has 35-38mm edges, a rounded face profile and a sweet spot approx 195mm to 215mm from the toe.

Salix AMP Select Cricket bat 2024 – £319.99
Salix are award-winning artisans who know how to make a cricket bat that performs beautifully but also looks like a stylish wand that Harry Potter would be drawn to.
The AMP shorthand means amplified profile, power and control; a trio of qualities that any batter in club cricket will always want more of.
This is described as a traditionally pressed, high-performance bat. Its rounder face has profiled pressing while there’s classical bowed pressing, rerunning through the driving area.
The Salix AMP has a sculpted profile sanded for the fullest back, a deep, long bow and a mid to low driving area profile. To get highly technical for a moment, I’m also loving the minimalist black and gold aesthetic.

Gray-Nicolls Powerspot Original Cricket Bat 2024 – £289.99
Gray-Nicolls do many things very well indeed when it comes to the world of cricket bats but they are particular masters at updating previous much-loved classics.
For those of us of a certain vintage, this 2024 version of the Power Spot is a homage to England internationals such as David Gower, Michael Atherton and Robin Smith who used it in the 80s.
Get ready for a classic Gray Nics profile with a low middle, rounded edges and face.
A light pick-up, allied with mid-sized edges that are curved are further nods to the retro vibe. A personal choice but again, I am drawn to the pared-back trademark red decal on the back.

New Balance TC 660 Cricket Bat 2024 – £214.99
If it’s good enough for our Joe, then that’ll do.
The TC660 is endorsed by Joe Root – although I suspect he gets a better quality of willow when facing the world’s fastest Test bowlers or majestically blocking resolutely for Yorkshire.
That said, this is a Grade 4 English willow bargain at a smidge over £200. It has a mid-swell profile and large edges. The cherry red shiny new balance font adds some bling and should have you carving it over the slip cordon or reverse scooping merrily in no time.

CA Plus 10000 Cricket Bat 2024 – £159.99
Want a bat that feels like an affordable lightsaber in your hand? Partial to flashy graphics, a punchy orange handle and a sweet spot to give it a proper yahoo?
The CA Plus 10000 could well be for you.
Hard to argue with the price, this English willow bat has 5+ grains, fitted toe guard for sneaky yorkers and the thumbs-up from Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal.
It’s unclear if the 10,000 refers to the runs you’re likely to score in a season or the number sold per minute but this is one of CA’s popular blades that can deliver power for pound.
