Getting support
Inevitably, clubs will have questions about set up and operation as they live stream their games. You’ll have a range of options from a comprehensive knowledge base to submitting a support ticket.
In addition, there is a designated support team on hand every single match day via the club’s own private WhatsApp group for peace of mind.
What’s new for 2024?
The technology with FrogBox is always evolving to include new features and improvements after feedback from the growing community of clubs, schools and universities. They have added a wet weather cover and encoder clamp which raises the encoder to improve the 4G signal.
A self-service portal is in development to allow clubs to submit their own match requests and upload sponsorship assets. This is likely to be live in the early part of the 2024 UK outdoor season or earlier.
Scoring options + FrogBox
Deciding on whether to buy FrogBox is usually a couple of key decisions for any club.
a. Cost – Either bought upfront, a fundraising effort or secure a live streaming sponsor.
b. Compatibility – FrogBox works with Play-Cricket Scorer app and Play-Cricket Live.
We’ll be exploring how clubs find sponsors and fundraise for their FrogBox. I’ve interviewed various clubs who’ve been able to find commercial partners because it’s a benefit to the club and the sponsor gets coverage all season that accumulates between YouTube and social media.
Also, the good news is that the ECB adds updates across each year for the Play-Cricket Scorer app and this now includes the option to print out DLS within the PCS app. (Some leagues require this).
Lilypad
Lilypad is a fan engagement tool by FrogBox that launched in 2023 and helps clubs select highlights from matches, build playlists and easily share them.
That might be full match highlights, sixes, wickets for a particular bowler, incredible catches or a comedy collection of bloopers.
One of the obstacles club volunteers might feel prevents them from choosing FrogBox is what you do with this mountain of footage collected by the camera.
Lilypad allows you to access all your highlights and create highlight packages nice and quickly. No need for hours of editing. All packaged so you can blast out bite-sized pieces of content on social media to grow your audience and engage with your community.
