Pre-Season Prep: Get Set Weekend Returns on 23-24 March

March 1, 2024 by John Fuller Leave a Comment

Get Set Weekend is due to take place on 23-24 March 2024, and cricket clubs are invited to register for the #GetSetWeekend using a quick form on www.ecb.co.uk/getsetweekend.

Clubs will be familiar with this annual initiative from the ECB that’s been running for years under different names.

The ‘Cricket Collective’ is the description for the many volunteers who power the incredible work at clubs and across the recreational game.

The goal is to encourage clubs to improve their club facilities and bring everyone together to do pre-season jobs on the ground. That might be painting the pavilion, repairing fencing or whatever needs attention.

It’s also a prime opportunity to invite the local community and perhaps meet new players, parents or volunteers who might wish to help out in future.

(Worth saying that if the particular weekend doesn’t suit then you can still obviously do your own Get Set event another time and still get access to the resources available, if your club registers.)

ECB Resources & Jewson Prize Draw

The ECB have a digital booklet and editable Task List to help clubs with planning their weekend. It includes:

🏏 Advice on how to run a successful event
🏏 Wet weather contingency plans
🏏 How to best create welcoming environments
🏏 New and improved social media assets

The digital booklet can also be found on the ECB Resources Hub (which is available to all).

*The deadline for clubs to register and be entered into the prize draw to receive Jewson Account Credit up to the value of Β£500 is 23:59 on 29 February 2024. (Clubs can register after this date for resources but won’t be entered in the prize draw).
