We all need fast, reliable, affordable broadband, whether it’s a cricket club offering WiFi for members and visitors or you’re at work or home.
In this broadband guide, we’ll introduce Brsk – an independent full fibre broadband network provider – who cover parts of Northern England. They are 14x faster than the average UK broadband speed and are proving incredibly popular in the towns and cities they serve.
The reason for this guide is that my broadband for Cricket Yorkshire was once annoyingly slow and I’d get the dreaded spinning wheel of doom for videos all of the time.
Brsk happened to be installing fibre optic cables in our street as part of their extensive work across Bradford and it was an incredible upgrade.
Much, much quicker, installed within a week and at a fixed price that was cheaper than I paid before. Here’s all you need to know…
First up, can you get Brsk in your area? Fair question. No point otherwise – and they’re a regional broadband supplier rather than BT or Virgin.
At the moment, they cover Bradford postcodes, Burnley, Manchester and the West Midlands – you’ll need to plug in your postcode to find out if they’re in your area.
Can’t get Brsk broadband where you live? It’s worth checking the consumer champion Which? who can compare deals and offer impartial advice.
Brsk Prices & Packages
Brsk always have broadband deals in any given month and they change all of the time – I had 3 months’ free which was a welcome bonus. Brsk broadband prices, at the time of writing, are detailed below – but they will vary.
(Prices listed here are for a 24-month contract in January 2024 – but will change month-to-month with new deals.)
They have 3 packages:
⚡ BetterNet100 – 100Mbps Upload & Download –
£25 £22 per month
⚡ BetterNet500 – 500Mbps Upload & Download –
£33 £25 per month
⚡ BetterNet1000 – 1000Mbps Upload & Download –
£45 £30 per month
🎉 Disclaimer / Extra Bonus: If you end up buying a 24-month broadband deal from Brsk through links in this article, both of us will earn a £75 Amazon Voucher.
Make sure you check what broadband speed you’re currently getting and then factor in your usage per person.
Mine used to be around 20 megabits per second or Mbps which is the speed of data travelling to you over the internet.
I am on Brsk BetterNet100 and it is ideal for streaming videos and watching TV (and updating cricketyorkshire.com!) on multiple devices.
Why I like Brsk
They are upgrading towns and cities that have historically had poor broadband coverage, their customer service (in my experience) has been superb and the product works very well.
🏏 Ultrafast full fibre – Very fast and super reliable
🏏 Flexibility – Monthly plans or 24-month deals
🏏Transparency – No hidden costs, a clear, fixed monthly price
🏏 No limits – Use your broadband as much as you like (no data caps)
There are lots of very positive Brsk reviews on Trustpilot (around 90% are 5 stars) which should be reassuring. Clicking through them, speed, price and communication are all given a thumbs up.
That’s not to say everyone will be happy or that Brsk will get everything right but from a conversation with an engineer to having a massively faster broadband speed, I can only say that it worked out very well here at CYHQ.
Brsk broadband reviews will only be part of your decision process but it’s likely to be once you’ve seen that they do your area, you like the price and speed and you’re just doing some final checks for peace of mind.
Whether Brsk works for you or not, good luck buying broadband!
